My research interests cover the field of Web service technologies enhanced with Semantic Web and Social Web. In the the focus of my research are mechanisms for describing Web APIs and methods for utilizing collective and social knowledge in the social media. My main goal is to improve the results of service provisioning (such as discovery, selection, composition, mediation and invocation).
I am also interested in developing advanced methods and mechanisms for the Linked Data and NLP community.

FREME - Open Framework of E-services for Multilingual and Semantic Enrichment of Digital Content (Feb 2015 - Mar 2015)
The general objective of the FREME innovation action is to build an open innovative commercial- grade framework of e-services for multilingual and semantic enrichment of digital content. FREME will empower digital content managers with its advantages and benefits it brings to the market. The FREME Framework fo multilingual and semantic enrichment of digital content will integrate the following e-services based on existing and mature technologies: e-Internationalisation, e-Link, e-Entity, e-Terminology, e-Translation and e-Publishing.
I've been working on this project in collaboration with the Institute for Applied Informatics (InfAI).

LinkedTV - Television Linked To The Web (Oct 2010 - Mar 2015)
Our vision of future Television Linked To The Web (LinkedTV) is of a ubiquitously online cloud of video content decoupled from place, device or source. LinkedTV will provide broadcast and online information (videos, images, text) to TV usable in the same way as text based information is used today in the original Web: interlinked with each other at different granularities, with any other kind of information, searchable, and accessible everywhere and at every time. Ultimately, this means creating Internet-based hypermedia for television.

LOD2 - Creating Knowledge out of Interlinked Data (Sep 2010 - Aug 2014)
LOD2 is an EU funded project within the FP7 Work Programme. Its ultimate goals is to develop: tools for publishing and managing of large amount of structured documents on the Web of Data, testbed and ontologies from different sources such as Wikipedia, methods and algorithms for interlinking and integrating Linked Data, standards and methods for handling provenance, privacy, security and data quality assessment, and tools for searching, browsing and creation of Linked Data.

Automation of Web Service Provisioning Process using Contextual Knowledge of Users (Feb 2011 - ongoing)
Web Services enhanced with semantics, known as Semantic Web Services, have been in an active development for one decade now. They leverage expressive semantic languages for description of services and they use logical reasoning and problem-solving methods to enable automation of service provisioning (such as discovery, selection, composition, mediation and invocation of services).Although the Semantic Web Services provide very sophisticated automation methods, they usually assume that software agents can ultimately users' activities. They rely on an explicit desired state and a desired quality that should result from the service provisioning and not how users could participate in the provisioning process. They do not take into account a wider user’s environmental context such as his/her presence in social media, social relationships with other users, relationships among multiple users’ goals, and activities that users perform (observable user behavior) within the service provisioning. This project’s ultimate goal will be to utilize users’ collective experience and social context in order to complement sophisticated automation methods, bring users into the center of services provisioning and improve its results.
